The German specialist will officially take up his post at the Neuburg facility on 1 November, overseeing the overarching management of the brand's Formula 1 project. Führ brings over 30 years of international experience in engineering and management, having previously served as Managing Director at Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains between 2009 and 2012.

The leadership shakeup comes as the team wraps up its debut season in the championship, currently sitting eighth in the constructors' standings. The team confirmed that the appointment will allow Chief Technical Officer Stefan Dreyer to focus entirely on the development of the Formula 1 power unit, while Chief Operating Officer Christian Feuer will continue managing day-to-day operations at the Neuburg headquarters.

"We have laid solid foundations in Neuburg, developing Audi's first Formula 1 engine from scratch," said team boss Mattia Binotto. "Thomas understands both the technical challenge and what it takes to build and lead high-performing teams. I am confident he will play a pivotal role in growing the team and establishing us as the top manufacturer in Formula 1. I look forward to him joining our team."
