Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are reportedly keen on signing Argentine winger Nico Gonzalez from Juventus, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport. However, negotiations have stalled due to the high asking price set by the Bianconeri.
Gonzalez himself, who spent last season on loan at the Metropolitano, is eager to return to Madrid and reunite with his compatriot, coach Diego Simeone. Although the 28-year-old has begun pre-season training with Juventus, he is hopeful of a transfer back to the Spanish capital.
The Italian club's management is firm on their valuation of the player, demanding a transfer fee of around 30 million euros. Juventus is unwilling to compromise but believes that an agreement acceptable to all three parties can ultimately be reached.
