Atletico Madrid Fans Abuse Julian Alvarez

Julian Alvarez, the Atletico Madrid forward who has expressed a desire to leave the club, was subjected to abuse from sections of the fanbase during Wednesday night's La Liga clash against Malaga. The Argentine wasn't even in the squad, yet fans in certain areas voiced their displeasure.

Chants of "Alvarez, son of a bitch" were heard, accompanied by whistles directed at the player.

When questioned about the incident after the match, manager Diego Simeone responded, "I have immense respect for our people."

As is widely known, "The Spider" (Alvarez's nickname) requested a move to Barcelona, but Atletico has so far refused. Cholo's (Simeone's nickname) official explanation for the striker's absence from the squad was that he is behind in his pre-season preparations.
