Atlético Madrid has put an end to speculation surrounding Julián Álvarez, with club CEO Miguel Ángel Gil Marín guaranteeing the Argentine forward's stay. In a statement to the Efe agency, the executive was unequivocal: the forward is not for sale.

Despite persistent rumors linking the striker to Barcelona, the Madrid club's stance remains firm. The Colchoneros consider the player a valuable asset for the current season and have no intention of negotiating his departure, a message Gil Marín has reiterated throughout the summer, both in interviews and to the club's own media outlets.

"Atlético, like all great clubs, is built with great players, and I am sure that Julián is one of them, in addition to being a great professional," he stated, emphasizing the importance of retaining top talent: "We must compete with our values, with homegrown players, and with the best foreign players we can sign."

Gil Marín also criticized the player's inner circle, suggesting he had not been well-advised. "We must understand that Julián has not had the best advisors regarding his professional career in recent months," he lamented, before reinforcing the club's intention to support the athlete: "We will help Julián and continue to look after him so that he can give us his full potential, because we need him to continue competing among Europe's elite."

The executive also sent a clear message to interested clubs and the media, accusing them of attempting to destabilize Atlético. "We will not allow other clubs and their affiliated media to decide what we have to do, dictate our sporting strategy, and disrespect us," he declared, adding that the objective of these maneuvers is to "divide" the club. "Atlético fans will not allow us to be contaminated. Atleti is strong when we are all united."

It's worth remembering that the saga began exactly 60 days ago when Julián Álvarez himself, after the match between Argentina and Austria in the World Cup, publicly expressed his desire to leave to "fulfill a dream," revealing Barcelona's interest. Since then, Atlético's response has consistently been the same: the only way the player will leave is through the payment of his astronomical 500 million euro release clause.
