Aston Villa has officially unveiled Nicolas Jackson as their latest signing. The striker joins from Chelsea in a deal worth an initial £47.5 million, potentially rising to £65 million with add-ons. The Senegalese international is set to replace Ollie Watkins, who is moving to Al-Hilal for £50 million. Watkins is currently undergoing medical examinations, after which his transfer will also be formally announced.
Last season, the Senegalese international was on loan at Bayern Munich, where he registered 11 goals and 4 assists in 34 appearances. However, the German champions opted not to make the move permanent, returning him to Chelsea. Villa manager Unai Emery is well-acquainted with Jackson, having worked with him during their shared time at Villarreal.
Earlier today, Emery himself confirmed both transfers during his press conference.
Jackson has penned a five-year contract with Aston Villa.
