Negotiations between Aston Villa and Chelsea for the transfer of striker Nicolas Jackson to the Europa League champions are progressing well, according to Nicolò Schira.
The player himself has already agreed to join the Birmingham club, where he would reunite with his former Villarreal manager, Unai Emery. The Spanish tactician is keen to have Jackson back in his squad. Last season, the Senegalese international, a Chelsea player, was on loan at Bayern Munich, contributing 11 goals and 4 assists in 34 appearances. However, the German champions opted not to make the move permanent, returning him to Chelsea, who are now looking for another club for him.
The same source reports that Aston Villa is also interested in another forward, Jonathan David from Juventus. Newly promoted Hull City is also a contender for his signature, but the 26-year-old prefers the Villans. Villa is reportedly prepared to take him on loan, with negotiations with the Old Lady set to commence. The Canadian international joined the Bianconeri a year ago as a free agent but failed to meet expectations, featuring in 46 matches with 8 goals and 5 assists.
