For the third time this year, Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina clashed in a significant stage of a tournament. The Kazakhstani player had claimed victory in the Australian Open final, but her rival exacted revenge in the Indian Wells championship match. This set their head-to-head record for the year at 1-1.

Rybakina attempted a comeback, narrowing the gap to 4-2, but it was too late. The 27-year-old secured a 6-4, 6-3 victory in 80 minutes, booking her spot in the Miami Open final, where she will face Coco Gauff.

"I enjoy our rivalry. She's an incredible player and always pushes me to my limits. Against her, you have to play your best tennis, and that's why I managed to play so well today. She played great, but I constantly challenged her, and I'm proud of this victory. It's always tough, physically and mentally, and I'm happy to get another win against her," Sabalenka stated, as quoted by tennis.com.

"Lots of rallies, lots of emotions, lots of aggression, and lots of fun. It's going to be a battle, and I'm super excited to play her in another final," the world No. 1 said about her upcoming final against Gauff.
