Arteta: Everything is going brilliantly for the team right now

Mikel Arteta spoke following Arsenal's 1-0 away victory against Liverpool in their matchday nine Premier League clash. The Gunners' boss believed the triumph at Anfield—their first at the ground since 2012—was fully deserved. Arsenal now sit three points clear of Manchester City after the champions fell to a defeat against Brighton a day earlier.

"I am extremely proud. It's been 14 years—that's a long time. I'm proud not just of the victory, but of the way we achieved it and the character we showed. Especially after what happened four days ago, when you lose and get knocked out of a cup against a side you are expected to beat. That's the beauty of this game: it can put you in very tough situations, but four days later you have the opportunity to achieve something truly historic—and we took it.

At times it was an exhausting match, but we still managed to create six or seven good scoring opportunities. The moment you misplace a pass or fail to clear your lines properly, it becomes chaotic and they break immediately. It's impressive how well they attack vertically, but the way our team dealt with that style of play was fantastic.

Right now, everything is going brilliantly for the team. The victory is completely deserved, and the players deserve immense credit for the way they earned it," Arteta stated.
