The right back who joined The Gunners from Auxerre in 2007 will be out of contract at the end of the season.

"I'm out of contract, as everyone knows. I still consider myself as an Arsenal player at present," Sagna told Europe1.

There has been a long drag in contract talks between the Frenchman's representatives and Arsenal who are willing to offer him a €100,000-a-week two-year contract extension - with the option for a third year.

But Sagna has other plans it seems.

"But actually we had a small problem to agree [with the club], and I don't think I'll stay at Arsenal at the end of the season.

There are fears he might join a rival club in the Premier League with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City likely grooms.

Many Arsenal fans will be sad to see Sagna go after similar yearly departures have left the North London club on the back foot.
