Argentine President Javier Milei has announced he will not attend the World Cup final against Spain due to superstition. The championship match is scheduled for Sunday evening in New Jersey, kicking off at 10:00 PM Bulgarian time.
In an interview with radio station "El Observador," Milei stated he would watch the game from his residence in Olivos, where he has followed all previous matches. He even mentioned having a special jacket he wears for games. He recounted taking it off during the quarter-final against Switzerland when the Swiss scored, but quickly putting it back on. He has no intention of removing it during the clash with Spain.
This practice aligns with the widespread Argentine belief in "cabala," where fans recreate the exact conditions under which their favorite team previously won, hoping to ensure continued success.
Argentina is vying for its second consecutive and fourth overall World Cup title.
