The youths were said to have suspended the the quit notice on Thursday, August 24, at a press briefing at the Transcorp hotel in Abuja.

The youth groups, under the aegis of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, had asked the Igbos in the north to leave before October 1, 2017.

According to them, the ultimatum was in response to the Biafra agitation by the Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB).

The Federal Government and many prominent Nigerians have condemned the quit notice to the Igbos.
