Andrea Kimi Antonelli returned to the top step of the Formula 1 podium with victory at the United States Grand Prix, taking a major step towards his maiden world championship title.

It was the Italian's first victory since his triumph in Madrid over a month ago, following two difficult race weekends for Mercedes in Malaysia and Singapore. Those rounds were heavily disrupted by struggles to integrate the major upgrade package introduced at Sepang, but everything clicked on Antonelli's car in Austin.
"This was exactly the result we needed, and the entire team fully deserves it. Everyone worked tirelessly to bring this new upgrade package to the car, so it’s hugely rewarding to finally see that hard work pay off. We also executed our strategy to perfection by making the right call to stick to a one-stop race. I'm thrilled we pulled it off—the team did an incredible job today," Antonelli said. "We're so close now. We'll aim to close out the season in the best way possible, and hopefully, we can wrap up the title very soon," he added regarding his championship prospects.
