However, the Gresini Ducati rider made a mistake on the final corner of the ninth lap at the Sachsenring, crashing out of the race. After the finish, he explained his error and emphasized that he was generally pleased with his performance in Saxony.

"It was a very, very small mistake, but it led to a crash; I just made an error. I was comfortably in second place, simply trying to follow Marc without making any mistakes, but I had a tiny one and lost the front. Overall, I'm happy with the weekend. This was my first normal weekend since Catalunya, where I could take a few more risks. I'm pleased because I'm back at the top level, though I lack consistency in race pace, but generally, I'm satisfied," said the younger Marquez brother.
