New CAF President Ahmad Ahmad has finally turned on the knob with key positions handed out on Monday, May 8.

The appointments were made in Bahrain on the eve of the 67th FIFA Congress.

Many of the appointments were Ahmad Ahmad’s major backers ahead of the CAF Elections in March which saw the sensational ouster of long-time CAF president Issa Hayatou.

There was, however, one surprise.

Amaju Pinnick (Nigeria)

As president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) boss, Pinnick was one of the main men who backed Ahmad at the CAF Elections.

He won a seat on the Executive Committee of CAF, defeating long-standing member Anjorin Moucharafou who is also the head of Benin Republic Football Federation.

On Monday, he was appointed the chairman of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and Media Committees of CAF.

Philip Chiyangwa (Zimbabwe)

Chiyangwa, the president of Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) was also a major backer of Ahmad ahead of the CAF elections.

Nyantakyi is now the vice-chairman AFCON.

Danny Jordaan (South Africa)

Jordaan is the president of the South African Football Association (SAFA). He was the chief organiser of the 2010 FIFA World Cup which held in South Africa.

He was appointed CAF Chairman of the Marketing and TV Committee. He has also been named the Deputy Chair of the Club Licensing Committee.

Kalusha Bwalya (Zambia)

The only surprise appointment, Bwalya who is the former president of the Zambia FA did not back Ahmad Ahmad ahead of the CAF elections.

Despite being a Hayatou loyalist, Bwalya was appointed the chairman of the Technical and Development Committee.

Isha Johansen (Sierra Leone)

Johansen is the current president of the Sierra Leone Football Association. She was appointed the chairperson of the Women's Football Committee and vice-chair of the FairPlay and CAF Social Responsibilities Committee.

Kwesi Nyantakyi (Ghana)

Nyantakyi who is the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is now the vice-president of CAF.

Constant Omari (Congo)

Omari, another huge backer of Ahmad Ahmad is now the second vice-president of CAF.
