Agüero Delivers Sharp Retort to Laporte: "Don't Act Tough, You Shrink When We Meet"

Former Argentina striker Sergio Agüero didn't miss a beat in responding to Spanish international Aymeric Laporte ahead of tomorrow's highly anticipated World Cup 2026 final between their respective nations.

As is widely known, the "La Furia" defender gave an interview to "Marca" where he claimed that the "Gauchos" were benefiting from favorable refereeing at the World Cup.

Laporte stated: "In recent matches, we've seen things that have surprised us greatly – actions that are allowed and go unpunished. And it's always when Argentina is involved. This is a team that leaves a strong impression on people's minds. In football, this shouldn't be permitted, especially in such major competitions."

These remarks, as expected, sparked numerous reactions. One came from Kun Agüero, who used his YouTube channel to deliver a sharp message to his former Premier League teammate.

All World Cup matches are broadcast live on bnt.sportal.bg. The platform will stream all 104 games from the World Cup 2026 schedule in real-time.

"What are you doing, Aymeric? Look, we played together at Manchester City. You just said that 'in recent matches, we've seen things that have surprised us greatly.' What surprises you? Well, don't try to act tough, because when we meet, you shrink. That's it. Done," declared the former Barcelona player, who also showered praise on his former national team colleague, Leo Messi.
