Aramide wins Best Female Artist Western Africa

Aramide wins the honourable Best Female Western Africa Act at the 2016 AFRIMA 3.0 award ceremony held on Sunday, November 6, 2016.

The singer caught many by surprise as she edges out Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Seyi Shay, Niniola, and more to clinch the prize.

She has blessed the airwaves with a number of singles such as 'Fun mi lowo', 'I don't care', and 'Iwo nikan' of which she won an award for at the 2015 Headies.

Aramide will be dropping her debut album titled "Suitcase" in this award winning month of November.

The singer's "Suitcase" according to her will embody emotions of love, heartbreak, society, appreciation, God and her ongoing journey.

A third-runners up with a band she joined for the Star Quest talent hunt show while she was still at the University of Jos spurred her to pursue a solo career after graduation.

The talented singer got signed to Baseline Music on September 9, 2014 after her exit from Eldee's Trybe Records.

Aramide sings about love, betrayal, friendship, trust, and the attendant joys and aches of womanhood. Her musical influences include Erykah Badu, Miriam Makeba, Sade, Angelique Kidjo and other greats.
