Egypt's reserve goalkeeper Mohamed Gabaski Abougabal has become the face of Pulse of the Day after another heroic performance at the AFCON2021.

Gabaski, the name I prefer to call him, was the hero of the day again as Egypt defeated the host country, Cameroon, on penalties to progress to the final on Thursday night.

Following another impressive display for the Pharaohs, Gabaski is the Pulse of the Day for a record third consecutive time.

Seven-time champions of the Africa Cup of Nations, Egypt, have ended Cameroon's AFCON2021 dreams thanks to the heroics of the goalkeeper Gabaski Abougabal.

After 120 minutes of football, the Pharaohs and their counterparts from Cameroon, the Indomitable Lions were not separated as their semifinal clash ended in a goalless affair at the Olembe Stadium.

In the penalty shootout, Zamalek goalkeeper, Gabaski became the hero as he saved two spot-kicks to earn Egypt a 3-1 win over the host, Country.

In a repeat of the 2017 final, Egypt prevailed in the end to book a second AFCON final in the last three editions while Cameroon became the latest host to fail to progress beyond the semifinal since Egypt achieved the feat in 2006.

Egypt will be looking up to Gabaski to help them lift the AFCON title for a record eighth time when they take on Senegal in what will be a pulsating climax to the Africa Cup of Nations.

Mane scored one and assisted another goal as Senegal defeated a gallant Burkina Faso side 3-1 on Wednesday.
