5 issues with Erica Nlewedim’s outfit to the Queen Charlotte series premiere

While I have rated the looks of the Nigerian celebrities at the event, I thought I would dive into the details of the actress’ outfit and where she went wrong, so it is a teachable moment for all of us.

Erica’s outfit was not cheap. The outfit was made by Unlabeled by Ophir and it cost ₦269,550. The price tag on the outfit is comparatively expensive, but usually, the price has nothing to do with fitting and beauty.

There is an aspect of fashion that has to do with colour combination and the basic thesis of it is, some colours look better on you than others. Pink doesn't suit Erica because she is so light-skinned, red, green or black would have been a better colour.

Erica is pear-shaped, so she needs to be careful of the kind of outfits she wears. She should have worn a gown that accentuated her waist. This gown just looked ill-fitting on her, but it looked great on the model.

Most times, you can’t just wear an outfit from the designer without fitting it and even changing it to fit your vision and the event.

She needed to dish that scarf asap, it’s really weird that no one saw that and thought you need to do without a scarf. The gloves were also catastrophic. Opera gloves are a fashion risk, and they didn’t pay off in her case. Also, I disliked that little bag.

A Victorian-era theme event should be every fashionista’s playground. It was the origin of ball gowns typically seen on Disney Princesses. Didn't Erica get the memo, or she did and said to hell with it?
