The award-winning singer popularly known as 2Face Idibia arrived at the Ringier Nigeria office in his usual calm demeanor and was welcomed by Ringier staff.

He was also the first African and Nigerian artist to ever win an MTV Europe Music Award. He (alongside D’Banj) was the first artiste to win Best International Act – Africa at the 2011 BET Awards. He was the first to place a premium on his album by selling it at a rate higher than the unofficial standard rate in 2008.

Now there was no way 2Baba was going to come through without granting Pulse an interview.
In March 2017, he released the remix of one of his most loved songs ‘African queen’. The remake of his classic hit was accompanied by a music video. The following month he released a song titled 'Holy holy’. Still, this new quarter of the year has been a rather quiet one for the singer.
“I tell people that I’m on midterm break, minding my business, minding my family and working on fresh music,” he shared.
With groundbreaking hits like ‘No shaking’, ‘4 Instance’, ‘True love’, ‘See me so’ and others, one would automatically assume that the singer’s creative process would be a rigorous exercise.
“I actually don’t have any process, it just happens. Like for instance if sun hammer me too much, i fit reach house go say: the sun is brighter than the one thing.
“Depending on my mood, depending on what I’m feelin. So when it comes if I just zone into that, if I just get into that zone.
"Sometimes the beat comes first, I hear a beat and it inspires me and I just start writing. Sometimes I just have ideas and I just start writing them. Then later I organize them into music and sound.
With a record label, six albums, several hit singles, awards and philanthropic work, 2Face Idibia is known to many as a music mentor, legend, icon and royalty in the Nigerian music industry. Does the singer feel any pressure? He says he does.
“There’s always pressure that comes with that, it makes you know you are really appreciated but at the same time it makes you know that you have to break your own record or keep your game alive," 2Face said.
The singer also spoke to Pulse about his philanthropic work, the need for Nigerian youth to act responsibly and he also predicted what could possibly be the new sound of 2017.
