We take a look at a history of Super Eagles jerseys at the FIFA World Cup.

1994 FIFA World Cup

In 1994, Adidas teamed up with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for Super Eagles jersey for their first appearance at the FIFA World Cup.

For USA 94, Adidas designed a green collared first jersey for the Super Eagles. The upper area of the strip is white designed with a green-white-and-black pattern while the collar is black.

The green-white-and-black pattern is also used to wrap the sleeves and also used for the short.

The second jersey is all white with the green-white-and-black pattern designed around it. Green is used to wrap the sleeves and also used to design a line on the short.

The Super Eagles wore the second kit with green shorts in their first game against Bulgaria. It was used also used for the second game against Greece but this time with the white short.

The first kit was used in Nigeria’s last group game against Argentina and the second-round game against Italy.

1998 FIFA World Cup

The Super Eagles of Nigeria for the first time donned a Nike kit for the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France.

For the first kit, Nike designed a green V-neck kit stripped with white on the collar and shoulders and the side.

The Super Eagles wore the first kit for the four games they played in that tournament.

2002 FIFA World Cup

The Super Eagles wore Nike at the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea/Japan.

The first kit was an all light-green collared shirt with a strip of white on the side. For the second kit, it was all white with a strip of green on the side.

The Super Eagles wore the first kit for their opening group game against Argentina and their last game against England. The second kit was used for the game against Sweden.

2010 FIFA World Cup

Adidas who had returned as kit sponsors of Nigerian football designed Super Eagles kit for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

The first kit was an all-green shirt with white stripes on the shoulder and sleeves. It was this kit they used for all three games of the tournament.

2014 FIFA World Cup

Adidas continued as the kit sponsors of the Super Eagles and at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, they designed an all-green home jersey with a darker shade on the side and sleeves. They are also three stripes on the shoulders of the V-neck shirt.

They used this kit for all their games at the 2014 World Cup.

2018 FIFA World Cup

Ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Nike who have since returned as kit makers of Nigerian football designed two jerseys.

For the home kit, Nike draws inspiration from their 1995 jersey which they also designed for Nigeria. The white home jersey has a bright green-and-white zig-zag design which spreads across the torso. The sleeves have a zig-zag black design.

the away kit is a variation of Nigeria’s  full-green strip.

Nigeria will face Argentina, Iceland and Croatia in Group D of the World Cup.
