The gist is that a Disney acquisition of Twitter could help the legacy media company increase its digital footprint.
Today, 'insiders' reportedly told Bloomberg that the social media site could be acquired real soon by the Walt Disney Company.
Generally speaking, this seems like an odd match but there could be a fit: live streaming. Disney is a big investor in BAMtech, the company that powers livestreaming on Twitter.
The gist is that a Disney acquisition of Twitter could help the legacy media company increase its digital footprint. However, Twitter is worth an estimated $18 billion so this is no roadside deal.
Twitter's stock has been enjoying a good run since all this sale talk began with possible suitors rumored to include Salesforce and Google.
