The meeting was disclosed by Saraki's media aide, Olu Onemola, on his Twitter account (@OnemolaOlu) with the Senate President smiling with the former president.

Saraki's meeting with Jonathan is bound to add more fuel to the expectations that the former Kwara State governor will declare to run for president in the 2019 presidential election any time soon.

Even though he dismissed such reports when he met earlier with former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, and former military Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida, the senate president admitted two weeks ago that he was considering joining the race for president.

Saraki dumped the All Progressives' Congress (APC) last month to return to the People's Democratic Party (PDP), noting that the current government has failed in its promise to Nigerians.
