Supreme Court upholds election of Ajimobi, Okowa, Gaidam

Details of the judgement are sketchy, as the court is said to have fixed February 15 to give reasons for its  unanimous judgment .

The Supreme Court has upheld the  elections of the Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi; Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa; and Yobe State Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam.

The apex court announced the verdict on Tuesday, February 2, 2016.

The Governors' were vindicated after their petitioners had dragged them to the Election Tribunal, the Appeal Court, and eventually the Supreme Court over the outcome of the April 11, 2015 governorship polls.
