Call for expatriates
This is an exclusive blog post by Uzor Ngoladi.....To tell the truth, methinks Buhari should fire all his ministers and appoint expatriates. Realistically, with 16 years of democratic experiment, it has been proved without doubt that every politician in Nigeria is not patriotic.
Buhari must sack all his ministers and employ foreign hands that possess the technical knowhow to pull Nigeria out of this gory situation and strengthen our institutions.
Just like the answer to Super Eagles revival lies in hiring of a foreign coach, government ministries and parastatals require foreign nationals to expedite action on rebuilding Nigeria.
The Nigerian I know is a self-centered consumer that thinks of himself alone. Expatriates will turn around the sensitive sectors of this economy without fear or favour.
The power, petroleum, railway, transportation, education, agricultural, science and technology sectors require the expert hands of foreigners. There is no sense in paying huge amounts of salaries and allowances to a Nigerian who will end up looting the country dry and plunge these sectors deeper in a state of disarray.
Buhari should employ capable hands from anywhere in the world to drive this nation out of coma. The most important factor is to ensure steady power, regular supply of petroleum products, efficient transportation and a system that is generally working for the citizenry.
If it requires a Mr Ching Chung Hu to give Nigerians 36000 megawatts of electricity by December 2016, why not hire him and give him the mandate? No president can succeed without a formidable team of dedicated technocrats.
Buhari must eschew politics and dissolve this present national executive council that lacks the skill and expertise to re-engineer a comatose Nigeria. Settlement by political appointment is the bane of Nigeria.
The manpower that is driving America, Britain, Germany, China, Japan etc, can also perform the magic for us if we pay for their services. Why waste resources and time on a lazy unskilled politician? Hire the best foreign hands to execute the job. It is called thinking outside the box.
