Lockdown Shenanigans with Millennials and Gen Zs (MTN)

While many people vowed never to take going out for granted again, most of us found ways to have fun indoors, especially Millennials and Gen Zs. The first few days had us downloading the House Party app and playing trivias. This was a whole vibe as friends constantly posted updates and scores of their hilarious gaming sessions. It made it even better that we could turn on our videos. The House Party rave died pretty quick as privacy concerns arose but the vacuum was filled with the barrage of challenges on TikTok. Don’t Rush, Savage, Renegade and the voice-overs! IG-Lives were everywhere and the largest audiences were found on Celebrities’ and Churches’ accounts.

It was not uncommon to find reminders to be "productive" on social media but we all know at least one person who joined every webinar or masterclass they came across or that one friend that registered for 50 online courses but has not shared one Certificate of Completion yet, you don’t? Chances are that if you do not know anyone like that then you probably are the friend.

The struggle to work from home was a different pandemic. If it was not power supply issues, it was fatigue from all the Zoom meetings you had to sit through and sometimes it was plain old lack of ginger to do anything. Through it all, we all could relate regardless of the generation with some things.

  1. Sleeping Patterns turned upside down
  2. Hilarity of some conspiracy theories
  3. Anxiety associated with seeing numbers of infected people increase
  4. Disruption of plans
  5. Significant Increase in Mobile Data Subscription

Fortunately, for some of us, we knew about the MTN4ME personalized offers package that gave the best deals to suit our consumption daily at the most affordable rates. Ever so we did not have to complain so much about subscription fees.

Although technically the lockdown has been lifted, many companies still encourage remote working and social distancing is still a thing so many of these experiences are still valid pending when a lasting solution is provided.

In the meantime, some of us have decided to keep searching for the silver linings and sharing with everyone we can but how do you want to receive when you are still switching off and on your data? Wink.

Just dial *121# to check out your unique offers or log into MyMTN App and Crack-The-Egg to discover your best deals for the day and join the cool kids. You are welcome.
