Osun declares three days of mourning for late senator

The mourning period, which will run from Monday, April 24, to Wednesday, 26, was announced by House Speaker, Najeem Salaam on Monday.

Adeleke died on Sunday, April 23, after suffering a heart attack at Bikets hospital in Osogbo.

The mourning period, which will run from Monday, April 24, to Wednesday, 26, was announced by House Speaker, Najeem Salaam on Monday.

The flag at the Assembly will be flown at half-staff during the period while all legislative activities stand suspended.

Adeleke was the first civilian governor of Osun and was expected to contest the 2018 governorship elections on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He was buried on Monday in accordance with Islamic rites.
