Senator Esuene stresses need for Speed Limiting Device after minister's accident

Senator Helen Esuene is seeking the approval of the Federal Road Safety Commission's Speed Limiting Device (SLD).

Speed limit

Last weekend, former Minister of state for Labor and Employment, James Ocholi, his wife and son were involved in an accident that claimed their lives.

According to a Road Traffic Crash Investigation by the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), the accident was majorly caused by overspeeding.

In an interview with newsmen, she said the installation of the SLD would have prevented Ocholi's car from overspeeding, before somersaulting several times.

Senator Esuene pleaded with the National Assembly not to kill the speed limiting device innovation, adding that the installation of SLDs would reduce road traffic accidents.
