Salsa dancing classes are quite the rave among young people in Lagos.

Salsa is a Latin-America type of dance that originated in the 1960s, involving swift and rhythmic movements and danced in pairs.

The weekends and some weekdays are full of people looking for activities to fill up the spare time they have, and one of the most popular ways to have fun in cities like Lagos is to go Salsa dancing.

Salsa dancing is a chance to socialize and learn how to dance salsa while following the instructor's instructions.

Yinka goes Salsa dancing every Wednesday at Ikeja City Mall. On some days there are a lot of people and on other days a few people. She loves to go salsa dancing because she loves dancing, and dancing is fun.

She learnt to dance salsa at the university, and she is so good she is one of the instructors.

Yinka says there are other places to dance Salsa in Lagos, “Sometimes, I go to Magodo, V.I, Yaba and Lekki.”

I also went to Ogidi Studio at Lekki Phase One, an extensive one-shop for entertainment, where I was shown the amazing facility.

They have a dancing studio where salsa classes holds every other Wednesday.

Salsa dancing classes is also perfect for a first date or date nights in general because it gives you the chance to loosen up and still maintain intimacy.

Physical activities like dancing make you feel happy and relaxed. We sometimes have stress in our body and joints; dancing releases endorphins and de-stresses us.

You do not have to be ashamed if you think you are not good at dancing. Drop the self-consciousness and have fun.
