Natural Remedies: 5 homemade remedies for stretch marks

Stretch marks are long streaks and lines on peoples' bodies. Sometimes, it is red, other times it's black.

Most people feel uncomfortable having stretch marks and would love to get rid of them.

Many factors can make a person susceptible to having stretch marks; some of them can be genetics, pregnancy, fast growth during adolescence or drugs like corticosteroids.

Coconut oil has healing properties, and stretch marks can be likened to scars on your skin. Applying coconut oil to your stretch marks every night will help to reduce how red some stretch marks appear.

Smooth skin needs water. Drink a lot of water, hydration keeps the elastin in your skin from scarring.

Aloe vera has healing properties and softens the skin. After taking your bath, apply pure aloe vera to your skin.

Vitamin A is a retinoid. Retinoids make your skin smoother. Applying it on your skin as a serum or taking vitamin pills or eating foods and fruits rich in vitamin C will smoothen your skin and prevent violent-looking stretch marks.

Sugar has been dermatologically proven to reduce stretch marks. All you need to do is prepare a sugar scrub.

How to make sugar scrub. This is Healthline’s method of making sugar scrub to remove and reduce stretch marks;

"Mix one cup sugar with 1/4 cup of a softening agent, like almond oil or coconut oil, before mixing to the consistency of wet beach sand. Add some lemon juice.

Scrub the mixture on the part of your body where the stretch marks are."

Repeat several times a week while in the shower, making sure to rub the mixture on for eight to ten minutes."
