Benue Governor forces lawmaker to kneel before him

The Governor of Benue State has shown that he does not take criticism kindly after he made a lawmaker who attacked him to kneel down and apologize.

Hon. James Gbande kneeling before Governor Samuel Ortom

Benue.conm reports that Hon. Gbande who represents Kwande East State Constituency had criticized the Governor, saying he (Governor) was not doing enough to end the incessant attacks and killing perpetrated by the herdsmen in the state.

Hon. Gbande reportedly accused Governor Ortom following renewed attacks by the murderous herdsmen who had invaded the Ikyoawen community in Moor District and Diiv as well as Alaba villages of Nzaav council wards all in Turan, Kwande Local Government Council where 15 persons were killed and their properties destroyed.

The stinging attack did not go down well with Governor Ortom who saw it as an insult on his person and allegedly invited the lawmaker to his office and made him kneel down before the full glare of other government functionaries and tender an apology.
