Court jails man 3 years imprisonment for rape

A married man who raped a lady has been sentenced to 3 years in prison.

For raping a lady, Ekene Nweke will spend three years in jail.

Ekene Nweke, a middle aged married man, will have his unbridled sexual appetite to blame after he was handed three years jail term, with hard labour, for allegedly raping a 20 year old lady.

Nweke was sentenced by an Ebonyi State High Court sitting in Abakaliki, the state capital.

The Chief Judge of the state, Justice Alloy Nwankwo, handed down the sentence to Nweke, for the crime he committed on February 21, 2011.

The court had earlier heard that the convict forcefully had carnal knowledge of the lady without her consent at her residence in Abakaliki.

The prosecutor provided a medical report of the medical examination conducted on the complainant by an expert which showed there was deposit of semen around her private part.
