A woman named Shayla Bastarche, who lives in Alberta, Canada, has fallen victim to a scam after a man sold two fake Sphynx kittens to her.
Sphynx cats are a rare breed of animals, coveted for their hairless body feature.
To achieve his own version of the kittens, the unknown fraudster shaved them and sold them for a pricey amount of $650 each.
Bastarche, who isn't the only victim of this sort of trick, reportedly met the seller in the night at a gas station.
This shouldn't have been all the clue she needed to confirm that something was fishy about the animals.

She had bought the second kitten for her friend, and both started growing furs after two weeks of purchase.
