Punch reports that Dike who was arrested in the early hours of Saturday, August 19, 2017, for abducting the victim, Victory Chikamso, raping her and killing her before removing vital parts of her organs, escaped from the cell at the at the Okporo Police Station in the Garden City.

Dike was caught by a local vigilante in the Eliozu area of Port Harcourt while attempting to dispose of the remains of the victim who was his neighbours daughter.

The 23-year-old Dike had allegedly decapitated the victim, removing her eyes, carving out the vagina, cutting off her breasts, a finger, and tongue, by the time he was apprehended.

Confirming the escape of the suspect, the State Police Command spokesman, DSP Nnamdi Omoni said a manhunt has launched for him while an internal investigation has begun in earnest to establish if he had any inside help.
