PM Express reports that on the day of the incident, the victim had gone for a vigil in his church and was returning early the next morning not knowing that the robbers were trailing him to his house.
As he entered the compound, the hoodlums accosted him and led him to his flat where they searched the rooms and were disappointed that he did not have any useful thing for them to steal.
According to the victim, he pleaded with the robbers that he was facing financial challenges and had been praying to God to turn things for the better for him and as such, did not have any money to give them
In anger, Cyril narrated, one of the robbers pointed a gun at him and shot at his hand which fell off, telling him that was his punishment for not keeping anything in the house for them to steal.
“So you don’t have anything and you are showing off. You suffered us all this while we trailed you only to find nothing in your house,” the victim said the robbers told him as they left him in a pool of blood before neighbours rushed to Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), where doctors battled to save his life.
The matter was reported to the police who confirmed the incident but said no arrest has been made.
