St Nicholas accident victim out of coma

The accident victim who has been in coma at the St Nicholas Hospital has recovered considerably.

Thanks to the intensive care given to an accident victim by the St Nicholas Hospital, Lagos, the young man has finally gotten out of a coma that last well over two weeks.

The young man, who gave his name as Owolabi Akindujoye, was involved in a ghastly car crash on the Third Mainland Bridge, and was rushed to the hospital by officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority.

According to the hospital authorities, Akindujoye said he was 19-years-old and was a bus conductor who usually slept under a bridge in the Oshodi area of the state before the incident.

He was reported to have told the hospital that he is an indigene of Ondo State.

Though the upscale private hospital had repeatedly called on Nigerians to help disseminate the information about the young man so that his relatives can come for him, no one has come out to claim him, and this is becoming a source of concern for the facility.

The hospital's administration manager of the hospital, Kunle Bamigboye, said the victim identified his mother as Ramot Akindujoye, a herbal trader.

He said:

"We initially thought he was a student, but when he woke up, he said he was a bus conductor and was sleeping under the bridge in Oshodi before the incident.

He identified his siblings as Emmanuel, Matthew, Suleiman and Usman. Unfortunately, none of his family members have shown up. But he is recovering already and can also feed himself."

The hospital management took to its Twitter handle to express their happiness over the recovery of Akindujoye.
