Man in soup for breaking Police Inspector’s jaw
A man who could not control his anger has landed himself in prison for allegedly breaking the jaw of a police officer at their station.
Total News reports that John was angered after he was invited by the police at the station over an issue he had with one of his neighbours and turned his aggression on the officer,Inspector Elakbe Ojo, where he displayed his boxing prowess.
The Inspector was said to be badly injured to the extent that he can no longer speak or eat after the incident and was taken to a nearby hospital where a doctor stitched his broken jaw.
Trouble allegedly started when John went to the station to know the officer that invited him and when Inspector Ojo informed him that he was the Investigation Police Officer (IPO), detailed to investigate an allegation against him, he became furious, grabbed Ojo and rained blows on his mouth.
The action of the warrior reportedly threw the station into confusion before other police officers mobilized and handcuffed him.
He was charged to court on a one-count charge of causing grievous bodily harm on Ojo who was performing his lawful duty where he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr. A. A. Fashola, however, granted John bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and ordered that he be remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition while adjourning the matter January 11, 2017, for a mention.
