2 men sentenced to death for killing
Two men have been sentenced to death by hanging after they were found guilty of murder.
State counsel, Femi Onipede, explained to the court that on the said date, the accused persons murdered the victims by hitting them with axes on their foreheads, an offence which contravened Section 319 of the Criminal Code Cap 30 Vol. II Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria as applicable in Ekiti State.
In handing down the death verdict, the Judge, Justice Abiodun Adesodun, reasoned that the prosecution had proved its case of murder preferred against them beyond reasonable doubt.

He ruled:
“I hereby sentence you, the first accused person, Segun Adeyemo and the second accused person, Gboye Babaniwura, to death by hanging until life goes out of you. May the Lord have mercy on your souls.”
