Custom officers arrest man smuggling bags of rice as corpses in ambulance

Officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service stationed at the Badagry-Seme border have arrested a suspected smuggler in the process of smuggling bags of rice as dead bodies inside an ambulance.

The suspect, Moses Degbogbahunn

Customs officers stationed at the Badagry-Seme border apprehended the suspect identified Moses Degbogbahunn, while he was trying to smuggle in bags of imported rice which was loaded  in an ambulance and packaged as dead bodies.

The mobile patrol team leader, Chief Superintendent of Customs, Ozah M., said that the suspect was arrested after the officers at the border noticed how frequently he drove past the border with what was assumed to be dead bodies.

A stop and search exercise of the Volvo with plate number, DV 74 EKY, showed that 'corpses were actually bags of rice.
