Top journalist arrested for battering fiancee

A journalist with a popular TV station in Nigeria has been arrested for allegedly brutalizing his fiancee.

A top journalist and television presenter with TV Continental, a television station based in Lagos State, Wale Fakile, according to reports, has been arrested by the police for allegedly beating up his fiancee and inflicting injuries on her in the process.

According to a post made by the lade who identified herself as Mandy on Facebook, Fakile who is the co-presenter of two very popular programmes on the station, TRENDS and QUESTION TIME, was arrested after she sent a distress message to her friend while the beating was still going on and the friend invited the police who arrested him.

This is the message that Mandy posted on Facebook:

"I am Mandy, my supposed boyfriend that works with TVC, beat me yesterday to stupor with bruises all over and he said there is nothing I can do about it bcos he is rich and works with TVC and am poor."

The case is said to have been reported to the Ministry of Women Affairs and the Management of TVC and the management have commenced investigations into it.
