Bricklayer allegedly kills girlfriend, conceals body in pit toilet

Getting rid of his girlfriend’s body after killing her wasn’t Soji’s problem, but getting rid of the stench was.

The resilient stench was how residents of Balogun Agoro area of Osogbo, Osun State knew that the remains of a 20-years-old lady was been dumped in there.

Reports say she was killed and her body dumped inside a pit toilet by her boyfriend, who lives in same area.

The residents of the area had invited the police to come assist to evacuate the remains of the lady.

The ugly incident unfolded when some residents had complained about the stench of decaying flesh from the toilet, adding that nobody thought it was a human being that was dumped there.

They also observed that Soji used to pour disinfectant into the toilet to suppress the stench, adding that nobody knew while he was doing it until the police came on Sunday and evacuated the body of the lady.

An eye witness told reporters that, “Policemen came on Sunday and picked the lady’s body from the toilet. They broke the wall before they could remove her.

“The man’s name is Soji. The police initially arrested the wrong person because that one’s name is also Soji. But I learnt that they have released the innocent man.”

Another resident said nobody was sure if the suspect killed his girlfriend.

He said, “The lady might have died and the man, out of fear, dumped her body inside the toilet.”
