Woman Arrested For Burying Baby Alive

This mother, Patience Aaron should be condemned by all for attempting to kill her day old baby by burying her alive.

While many women are praying and willing to pay huge amount of money to get a child, a woman who has been blessed by God with the fruit of the womb decided to bury hers alive and in the process, the long arm of the law has caught up with her.

That is the story of Ms Patience Aaron, a young mother who was arrested by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, for attempting to kill her new born baby girl by burying her alive.

Patience Aaron, an indigene of Afaha Abia village, in the Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of the state, was nabbed by vigilant residents when she buried the innocent one-day old baby alive.

The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Gabriel Achong, revealed this at a a press conference in Uyo, saying that the baby who refused to die despite the harrowing experience she had in the hands of its mother, was rescued alive nearly five hours after she had been buried.

Residents who saw Patience in the unholy act, quickly alerted the police who swooped on her and effected her arrest.

According to the police in the state;

Patience buried her one-day-old baby in a shallow grave. The baby was rescued alive. Investigation is in progress.

The CP , however, added that poor baby was seriously ill due to the effect of the ordeal and had been taken to a hospital for treatment.
