Pregnant Sudanese Woman Sentenced To Death By Hanging For Marrying A Christian!

If this isn't crazy then what is it?

A pregnant Sudanese woman, Meriam Yahya Ibrahim, could be brutally whipped and put to death by hanging after she was convicted of adultery for marrying a Christian man.

On Thursday, May 15 a Sudanese court ordered the 27 year old woman to abandon her adopted Christian faith and return to Islam or she will be whipped and then hung. The judge reportedly asked his pregnant defendant one question: Will you return to Islam? Meriam, a married woman currently pregnant with her second child, bravely REFUSED!

"I am a Christian and I will remain a Christian."Meriam declared defiantly, according to CNN.

Meriam was charged with adultery and apostasy, which is defined as the "abandonment or renunciation of a religion by a person." She is considered a Muslim by default solely because she was born in Sudan, however, she was raised by her Christian mother and married a Christian man, her husband Daniel Wani.

Meriam's marriage to Daniel is considered void under the Sharia law solely because he is Christian. For those of you that are unfamiliar with it, Sharia law is the moral code of Islam.

Government officials claim that the ruling can be appealed by a higher court, according to a report by Daily Mail.
