With just four months to go in 2015, Universal Pictures has once again set new box office records.

All thanks the record breaking undefinedundefined,' and Illumination’s "Minions, Universal has now set a new record for the highest-grossing year ever at the domestic box office with a $2.113 billion haul.

The previous record which was held by Warner Bros., was achieved in 2009 with $2.105 billion domestically.

The studio already set records for the highest-grossing year at the international and worldwide box office, with a gross of $3.78 billion.

The studio also set an industry record for the highest-grossing year ever, overtaking the $3.73billion record set by 20th Century Fox’s 2014 international haul.
