Meg Otanwa opens up on gaining weight for role in 'For Maria'

The actress stars as a young mother battling postpartum depression in the Damilola Orimogunje directed film.

Nollywood actress, Meg Otanwa is opening up about playing the lead in new Netflix release 'For Maria Ebun Pataki'.

In a recently shared tweet, Otanwa who stars as a young mother battling postpartum depression, revealed how she put on weight to achieve a realistic postpartum belly.

"To achieve a realistic postnatal body, I chose to gain some weight for the role. I took a pix b4 I started gaining weight and the 2nd was my belly a few days before shoot. I'm honoured by your feedback," the actress wrote.

'For Maria Ebun Pataki' premiered on Netflix on January 16 and has continued to garner positive reviews on social media.

Directed by Damilola Orimogunje, the film also stars Gabriel Afolayan, Tina Mba and Judith Audu.
