HBO drops hint about when GOT will return for final season

HBO has dropped a hint about when the eighth and final season of "Game of Thrones" will return.

Speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour, HBO programming president Casey Bloys said the eighth and final season of the show will return in the first half of 2019.

This is probably a hint that "Game of Thrones," which premiered its first six seasons each in March or April [the seventh season premiered in July] is set to return to its original schedule.

But quite a number of people have spoken about the upcoming season

In a recent interview with Gold Derby, Turner destroyed any hope fans had for a diplomatic and less violent finale

“I can tell you that there’s definitely a coming together of people,” Turner told Gold Derby. “Everyone is coming together to fight the impending doom. There’s a lot of tension between these little groups, battling for what they think is right. It’s Game of Thrones, so it’s going to be bloodier and more death and more emotionally torturous than all the years before.”

After former "Game of Thrones" actor Jason Momoa visited the set, he told Entertainment Weekly that the upcoming season will be the greatest thing that has ever aired on TV

Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister, described the upcoming season as "heartbreaking and the end of an era’.

Earlier this year, HBO executive, Francesca Orsi, who got to sit in on the table read for the final episodes of the show, said there would be quite a number of deaths in season eight.

“None of the cast had received the scripts prior, and one by one they started falling down to their deaths," she said.

The penultimate season came to an end with a helpless Tormund and Beric watching the Night King destroy the wall. They saw the Night King emerge with an undead Viserion at his command.

The latter breathed blue flame at the wall, melting the wall and paving way for the beginning of the greatest war on "Game of Thrones."
