Gwen Stefani and Garvin Rossdale divorce after 13 years of marriage

Gwen Stefani and her husband, Gavin Rossdale, are splitting after 13 years of marriage, Monday, Aug. 3, TMZ reports.

They said in a joint statement:

"While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment. To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time."

TMZfirst broke the news on Monday, referring to divorce documents filed by the No Doubt songstress. Stefani filed documents to end their union on Monday, Aug. 3, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Superior Court confirmed to Us. Both musicians are citing irreconcilable differences, and are seeking joint custody of their three young sons, Kingston, 9, Zuma, 6, and Apollo, 17 months.

Rossdale, 49, is being represented by Hollywood divorce lawyer Laura Wasser. Stefani is being represented by Scott Weston.

The platinum blonde Voice coach, 45, told cosmopolitan in its March 2015 issue about her marriage, hinting that they've been through their ups and downs over the years.

"We go through so much together — it's a miracle that we could stay together this long," Stefani, 45, told the mag. "[Gavin's] on a short tour right now, and he wrote me the sweetest note this morning. It's good to have those days when we both do our own things. I think that's what keeps relationships going, when both people can be themselves and have their own individuality. That's especially important for women. It's hard to find time for yourself."

Stefani added that loved that he was the father of her three kids. "I do think he's quite handsome," she said. "It's not the most important thing about him, but it is nice — and he makes really cute babies!"
