“Education for all is my passion" — Fmr Senate President
Former Senate President, Senator David Mark has called for more funding for the education sector towards achieving education for all.
Speaking at the flag-off of the 2014/2015 Senator David Mark Scholarship Foundation (DMSF) Awards in Otukpo, Mark said education will help protect the populace from manipulation.
“Education for all is my passion; my prayer is that we improve the sector through improved funding so that every Nigerian of school age can be educated and saved from manipulation and oppression," he said.
The senator noted that he started the DMSF because of his dream of education for all.
"Likewise, this foundation was set up to avail students in our state financial assistance to aid their education.
He urged well-meaning Nigerians to contribute to the effort by sponsoring indigent students within their communities.
"I urge good-spirited persons to also emulate this by sponsoring at least two students in our communities, it will go a long way to eliminate ignorance in the society."
Mark has awarded scholarships worth over N500 million to about 15,700 students since his Scholarship began in 2007.
