17-year-old Ashik Gaval was discovered to be suffering from a complex composite odontoma, a condition which causes multiple teeth to grow from a single gum.
Dr. Sunanda Dhiware, one of those who performed the procedure, said that the growth in Ashik’s mouth couldn’t be cut at first so a basic chisel and hammer had to be used to take it out.
Ashik now has 28 teeth left in his mouth, which will be capped, but doctors have expressed fears that the condition might reoccur.
