Frank Onyeka helps Brentford snatch dying-minute draw against Zaha-inspired Crystal Palace

Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka put in a commendable performance on Tuesday night in the English Premier League as his Brentford side grabbed an encouraging draw away at Crystal Palace.

The Nigerian international was on hand to help the Thomas Frank-led side grab a second consecutive draw against fellow mid-table teams.

Onyeka was a second-half substitute but did enough to show his quality for the Bees on his second substitute appearance this season.

Coming off the back of a 1-1 draw at home with Everton, Brentford sought to end a two-game winless run after their shock 4-0 thrashing of Manchester United on Matchday 2.

In the first half of few opportunities, the visitors could not muster any shots on target while Crystal Palace had two shots on David Raya's goal but none beat the Spanish shot-stopper.

However, returning Crystal Palace star Wilfred Zaha finally broke the deadlock in the 59th minute, feeding off a Cheick Doucoure assist to grab his fourth league goal in four matches.

Brentford kept the pressure on Crystal Palace towards the end of the match and the visitors were rewarded for their persistence with an equaliser through Yoane Wissa in the 88th minute.

In the search for an equaliser, the Brentford manager brought on Frank Onyeka in place of Bryan Mbeumo in the 66th minute as the Danish tactician sought to control the ball more effectively.

Onyeka acted as the perfect springboard for Brentford's attacks, delivering 16 accurate passes from his 20 touches overall at an accuracy of 94.1% while also bagging one (1) key pass and another accurate long ball.

Defensively, the Nigerian international also contested six (6) duels and won two (2) as well as bagging one (1) interception and one (1) clearance and drawing one (1) foul from the Crystal Palace side.

The draw helps Brentford enter the top half of the Premier League table, now 9th with six (6) points from five matches so far.
