The Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC) Professor Julius Okojie disclosed this recently when he received a delegation from Cambridge University.

He said NUC and the university are working on plans to ensure that students who passed the CIE could be admitted into any Nigerian university as an equivalent of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)

Okojie said it is a welcome idea to allow students with the CIE access to the Nigerian University System and promised that the Commission will facilitate the process.

He advised the body to also partner with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the National Examinations Council (NECO) to ensure that the standards used are in sync.
